Selling trucking and dispatch records
Updated October 2026 · listmydata team
Years of dispatcher email, load sheets and routing decisions show how freight really moves when things go wrong on the road. Before you sell, remove driver, shipper and customer details. Federal law often requires shipment details to stay confidential.
What buyers want
- Dispatcher email and texts, especially problem-solving on delays, breakdowns and reroutes
- Load sheets, rate confirmations and routing or scheduling records
- Notes on claims, detention and how disputes were settled
- Safety and maintenance records, with driver names removed
OpenAI's 2025 test of AI on real jobs includes shipping, receiving and inventory work (GDPval), and AI data companies advertise $90 to $120 an hour for supply-chain and operations experts. We haven't seen published sale prices for trucking records yet. Posting yours helps set the market.
Check before you sell
- Shipment confidentiality: federal law (49 U.S.C. 14908) bars carriers and brokers from disclosing a shipment's contents, quantity, destination, consignee or routing without consent where it could harm the shipper or help a competitor (law text). Remove shipper and consignee names and anything that identifies them.
- Drivers: remove names, license numbers, phone numbers, home addresses and anything from driver qualification, drug and alcohol, or medical files. Those files should never be included.
- Records you must keep: FMCSA requires hours-of-service records and supporting documents to be kept for 6 months, and other files for longer. Selling a copy doesn't change those duties.
Getting your data out
- AscendTMS: under Search Loads, use "Export Load Data" or "Export Loads Summary to Excel." (AscendTMS)
- McLeod: reports export to Excel from the report viewer, and can be scheduled by email.
- Samsara: "Download CSV" on each report, covering hours-of-service logs, inspection reports, IFTA and safety data. (Samsara)
- Motive: reports export from the three-dot menu on each report. (Motive)
