Selling HVAC, plumbing and electrical service records
Updated October 2026 · listmydata team
Years of service tickets and technician notes are a record of how real problems get diagnosed and fixed: the symptom, what was checked, what failed, what fixed it. The main job before selling is removing homeowner and customer details.
What buyers want
- Service tickets with technician notes and diagnoses
- Job files, estimates and parts used
- Callback and warranty records, which show what went wrong the first time
- Dispatch records and internal messages about tricky jobs
- Paper files and old software exports are fine
AI data companies advertise $80 to $130 an hour for mechanical, electrical and plumbing experts to teach AI how buildings work. If your experience is the asset, see expert gigs in skilled trades. We haven't seen published sale prices for trade shop records yet. Posting yours helps set the market.
Check before you sell
- Homeowner and customer details: remove names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, payment details, gate and alarm codes, and photos that show people or house numbers.
- Commercial clients: service agreements and NDAs with commercial customers may restrict sharing details about their buildings. Remove the client's name and site, or leave those records out.
- Records you must keep: some records have their own retention rules, such as EPA refrigerant records. Keep originals as required, even after selling a copy.
Getting your data out
- ServiceTitan: "Export to Excel" on job searches. An admin must first turn on the "Allow exporting search results" permission. (ServiceTitan)
- Housecall Pro: Jobs, then Actions, then Export. A CSV arrives by email. Admins only. (Housecall Pro)
- Jobber: ask Jobber support for a full export of jobs, visits and notes.
Technician notes are what buyers want. A customer list on its own isn't, and it can't be posted on listmydata. If your software doesn't export notes, ask its support team for a full data export.
